15 million people are forcibly evicted each year. WITNESS works to incorporate video advocacy into local and global campaigns for housing and land rights with international and local partners in Brazil, Cambodia, Egypt, India and Mexico.
WITNESS and Amnesty International, along with our regional partners, developed the Forced Evictions Advocacy Toolkit, a multimedia resource for activists, social movements and communities fighting evictions. From outlining the obligations of governments to sharing videos that help foster debate and inspire mobilization, the Toolkit provides critical resources to support the efforts of those advocating against forced evictions locally and globally, as well as those working to raise awareness on the issue.

May 2014 | WITNESS spoke with several groups and community leaders who are using video to document human rights abuses and retain the memory of neighborhoods facing eviction due to development and infrastructure projects in Colombia.
April 2014 | WITNESS traveled to Medellín, Colombia for the World Urban Form and the People's Alternative Social Forum where we conducted a series of trainings and screenings with forced evictions activists and community members.
